Well aren’t I lucky!
Last week I saw perform some of my favorite producers at this moment. And not just that, I was in Paris at the time!
I just love it, how everything connected for me. After a shitty month of August, life really wanted to make it up to me, so it send me on a wonderful journey of Space Invaders, music, architecture, history, art and to many people.
But enough about me, let’s talk about Débruit! And Souleance and Plapla Pinky!
I’m not really sure how this one late night evening i wound up buying the new vinyl edition of Débrut’s album From the Horizon, but it happened and I’ve been hooked on his music since. So when I heard he might be performing in Paris at the end of September and I just might be in Paris to see him, I was just to good not to be true. I was constantly checking out his tour dates, to see if when. And after me and my friend already made the reservations, he published the date. It was on the day we got there.
But before that a local record label rx:tx had a pre-release party for Fulgeances  album Step-thru they were releasing and I had to write a review of the event, so naturally I had to check out who is this Fulgeance guy anyway.
But I also had to check out who are those others who were gonna perform with Débruit.
Souleance, hm.. nice and groovy I thought.
Plapla Pinky? Sounds a bit gay - the name I thought. But the music, nice and brutal -turned out.
I couldn’t help in the back of my head of thinking how the name Souleance and Fulgeance sounds similar. And no wonder, I turned out, for Fulgeance is Souleance. Well, half of it. He’s the eance part and the Soul part belongs to DJ Soulist.
So I went to that pre-release party, confirmed my suspicions, that Fulgeance is awesome and then for the next couple of days completely forgot why I wanted to go to Paris in the first place.
Space Invaders!
I also forgot why I wanted to go in the second place.
Débruit!
Interesting city, Paris. I was afraid with the line up and all, that the show will be sold out for sure, but apparently people of Paris are not that in to this kind of music after all. Hardly anyone came.
Oh well, it’s their loss really, because these guys are really honest about what they’re doing and they play their music with passion. They all performed spectacularly despite the low turnout.
I do hope I will get to see them again!

I only wish I had a gramophone so I could actually listen to it now. But no matter, I will take it with me to the radio and listened to it there. We have better sound there anyways. Hell, I’ll make an evening out of it.

Besides, it’s not like I didn’t get free download with it. :) I only wish I had a gramophone so I could actually listen to it now. But no matter, I will take it with me to the radio and listened to it there. We have better sound there anyways. Hell, I’ll make an evening out of it.
