I love me some good noise. And this time it looks like I’ve discovered one of the most important noise makers in the world.

If Berlin is a place where all brilliant electronic musicians come from (dub steppers are from UK) then Japan has all the weird but brilliant musicians. Well, this might be prejudice, but I did notice lots of them comes from Japan. I’m talking about noise makers, experimentalists an such oddities.

Merzbow is according to wikipedia one of the leading authors in noise, experimental and dark ambient music. So far he released over 350 recordings, written 17 books on various subjects and is also editor of several books not to mention his interest in painting, photography, video and butoh dance.

The man is 56 and still bursting with creative energy. And I definitely think I will look up more of his stuff, because I’m totally liking this!
