Diamanda Galás - Gloomy Sunday
Gloomy Sunday is known as the Hungarian suicide song, and was also sang by Billie Holiday only she used the lyrics written by Sam Lewis, unlike Diamanda who used Desmond Carters lyrics.
Sure, Billies version made the song popular and was also baned from BBC, but the way Diamanda does it it’s just so intense. I cried like rain when I first heard it.
